Who We Are
SCDC is non-government, non-profitable, non- religious and non-political organization is registered 1991 January 23 in District Administration Officer (DAO), Rajbiraj Saptari. SCDC is established with objective of creating the feeling of brotherhood and unity among the Nepali people on the basis of freedom and equality by saving fundamental rights of all Nepali citizens, making arrangement of water supply, education, health, forest and environment protection and skill-oriented training for security and development with the best welfare of the helpless, disable, children, women, senior citizens etc of the society and the economically and socially backward majority group and operational of social awareness program so as to abolish the social evils like touch ability, discrimination based on caste, social inequality and traditional superstition in the society.
SCDC believes that poor health, low education levels and poverty are all aspects of the same problem and create a cycle that prevents people from taking control of their own futures. We aim to support the most vulnerable populations to break the cycle of the poverty by assisting communities and local authorities to lay the groundwork for a self- sufficient future. Our integrated community development programme aims to address these aspects simultaneously while empowering individuals and communities.
Since its inception in 2001, SCDC has treated over 50000 students and children enrolled into schools. The organization also has contributed to more than 3600 HHs have safe drinking water.
SCDC is implemented different programs and project with partnership with including Save the children Japan , Save the Children International, International Labour organization (ILO),World Education, Poverty Alleviation Fund, Social welfare council, Micro credit for women (Asian development bank), Nepal water for Health (NEWAH), forest right project, NPLAP, Department of Education-Nepal, Rural water supply and sanitation Fund board development (RWSSFD),Caritas Nepal, Caritas internationalis and caritas Germany. SCDC is registered under the organization registration Act 2034 of Nepal with the District Administration office, saptari (Regd.No.17/2047 and is affiliated with Social Welfare Council under section 13 of the Social Welfare Act,1992(SWC No.335)
